Cervello Highlights

Cervello is a professional services firm that specializes in data management and business analytics. I worked with Cervello as their lead designer on a number of print and digital projects.

As frequent exhibitors at tech conferences and events, it was important for Cervello to have cleanly designed booths and banners to grab the attention of attendees.

The mockups below showcase some of my favorites that I designed, three of which were produced for conferences.

There are dozens of technical considerations to be made when designing for large format printing. I worked closely with the vendors to ensure that all design and print parameters were being met—providing deliverables within their proprietary templates, adhering to their specific dimensions and crop restrictions, and using exclusively vector graphics and high-res photography.

Flyers / datasheets

This type of work has a very satisfying puzzle-like quality to it. I’m basically presented a huge chunk of copy containing niche technical information and given the task of condensing it to fit on an 8.5x11” composition in a visually engaging way.

Data-dense sheets and flyers like this are often boring to look at, so the challenge was to break down the information to be both stylish and communicative.

These projects were an exercise in technical writing, as I was constantly editing copy to fit within sections, meet necessary line breaks, and fulfill other visual parameters. It was a fun writing challenge to shape and refine the text while making sure to maintain the overall messaging.

The biggest principle in my education was information design and how to manipulate both visual hierarchy and typography. Because of this, type-heavy projects like these are always a welcome challenge.

Graphics and whatnot

I created a variety of ad-hoc graphics and visuals for Cervello, sometimes to specifically improve and modernize old graphics.

Most of the graphics I created were to help visualize the company’s systems and offerings. I designed diagrams, social ads, and also a template for a company wide performance summary.

I also designed company stickers and T-shirts which were produced and distributed throughout the company.
